Only the National Forest BAP has a Habitat Action Plan for urban habitats. In addition the Derby Greenprints list urban habitats and the Chesterfield lists gardens and allotments as priority species.

The following BAP species are associated with urban habitats: 
  • Song thrush
  • Bats 
 
 
 
East Midlands Butterfly Conservation is running a 'Butterflies on Brownfield Project'. This project concentrates on working with owners of brownfield sites with a number of butterfly and moth species. In Derbyshire the specific species associated with the Project is the Dingy skipper.
