|Dronfield and District Natural History Society|
The Dronfield and District Natural History Society was formed in 1970 and caters for a wide range of natural history interests. The Society is pleased to welcome into membership the interested beginner and the specialist.
A six monthly programme is available from January to June and July to December including a monthly meeting held at the Henry Fanshawe School, Green Lane, Dronfield, on the first Thursday of each month, (except August). Visiting speakers give lectures and illustrated talks on a range of topics relating to natural history. Outdoor field excursions are arranged, both locally and further afield.
All members, other individuals and societies are encouraged to submit records of birds, mammals, insects and plant life in the area covered by the OS map SK37 and SK47 which are added to the Society's valuable collection of data covering the last 25 years which is stored on computer.
A bi-monthly newsletter is available to all members.
The society is affiliated to Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and close co-operation with Sorby Society and Moss Valley Wildlife Group.
The annual subscription is £8.
